Eastern Cape
About
The Baviaanskloof is South Africa’s third-largest protected area, boasting seven of the country’s eight biomes. “It has incredible diversity, representing seven out of eight biomes.”
The new trail showcases this biodiversity, including Paradise Kloof, a unique network of narrow slot canyons. Booth says, “These magnificent slot canyons have four-meter-wide, one-hundred-meter-high cliffs that open into hidden ravines with green forests on crystal-clear mountains—it’s spectacular.”
Hikers will enjoy high ridgelines and plateaus with panoramic views across the wilderness.
